Beach Day.
Today we went to the beach, pretty early in the morning. Luckily it wasn’t as hot as yesterday, so we weren’t sweating to death. The walk went by quicker, and I was glad to jump into the water when we got there.
Yesterday and the day before I got stung by jellyfish. Today though, I didn’t get stung. I bought a net and tried catching fish. I couldn’t catch any at the beginning, but after a while I did. We took a walk on the beach and I saw a really big group of fish. There had to be hundreds, but they were kind of small. My dad used my net and stuck it in the water to try to catch some. The bottom half of the net broke, but he caught two fish. That was when we were on a walk so I had to occasionally put the fish in the water. Unfortunately, I didn’t do it enough times, and the fish died. I still put them in the bucket we had though.
Then we went into the water again near our stuff. Once again, we found another group of fish exactly like the ones we had seen before. This time my brother had my broken net, and he tried catching fish. Lucky for him, he caught four. While he was putting them in our aquarium, (the bucket), I was still looking for some fish to catch. I had made a goal for myself earlier, and had to accomplish it. My goal was…..to catch a fish. There was sand fish that blended in with the sand so they were hard to see, and there was bigger fish that nibbled at your feet. They felt like they were giving you fish kisses.
I was looking at the ground, and I saw this shell, it was kind of spiral but small. I picked it up and looked inside it. I saw a creature, like a hermit crab. I put it in the bucket and went looking again. This time I saw a bigger shell, like the ones I sometimes see on display. It was in perfect condition. I looked inside it too, and found another crab. I put that in the bucket too. I hadn’t completed my goal yet, but I was close.
After that I took the net out into the water. My dad had caught some fish, my brother had caught some fish, and besides me, the only other person who hadn’t caught any fish was my three-year-old brother. I was determined to catch something. I went out and looked around. Finally I saw another group of fish, (like the ones earlier), and stuck the net into the water. I was one hundred percent sure I caught at least one. I picked the net up out of the water and looked inside. I had caught….nothing. I was aggravated. I stuck the net in again, and again, and again. Finally, I caught one. It was about time. I ran to the bucket and dumped it inside. Now I knew I could catch some fish. I saw one being chased by a bigger fish, so I chased them both. I caught the small one and put it in the bucket.
I had learned that the sand fish liked going on the shore with the waves. Too bad they swam back really fast. I trapped one, and caught it with the net.
After that we dumped the fish back into the water and headed out. It was a great beach day.
Animals I saw:
1. Sea turtle.
2. Sand shark.
3. Stingrays.
4. Jellyfish.
5. Dolphins.
6. Fish.
7. Crabs.

Battleship.
On Wednesday, we went and visited the Alabama Battleship. It was really big. Like, really big. I had never been to a battleship before, so it was a new experience. There was a lot of stairs, and no air conditioning. There was a fan on only a couple levels. So we were in the heat most of the time. We got to see the bedrooms, guns, kitchens, doctor's offices, dentist offices, where the barber worked, and the captain's cabin. We didn't just see the ship, we saw a submarine, airplanes, and tanks too. There was one helicopter that was very oddly shaped, adn I don't know how to describe it.
